AN aspiring young artist has made an unusual online plea to comedian Russell Brand to help fund her university education.

Elaina Daley, aged 21, started a course at The School of Media, Arts and Design at Westminster University in London this month.

Creative Elaina, from Woodley Avenue, Radcliffe, has been interested in art since she was a child.

In October, 2012, she became her sister’s legal guardian after the death of her mother.

As legal guardian, she would have been guaranteed accommodation in London while she took her course, but in April this year her sister moved to live with other family members.

Elaina feared she could be left without accommodation and would be forced to live in a homeless hostel.

In the hope Russell Brand will sponsor her, she is encouraging people to tweet her YouTube video to his Twitter account, @Rustyrockets.

She said: “I selected Russell Brand because he is one of a minority of celebrities who I idolise and I feel is contributing towards making a difference in society.

“He also exploits political leaders who are notoriously known for taking advantage of the most vulnerable in society.

“If Russell Brand watched my video, I would feel ecstatic although nervous too.”

Elaina studied at Derby High School before taking a level two art course and extended diploma in art and design at Bolton University.

She also took A-levels in textiles and photography and National Vocational Qualifications in graphic design and photography in her spare time.

She said the “unique” University of Westminster course is perfect for her.

Elaina added: “If Sir Patrick Moore was still alive I would have chosen him.

“I feel he relates to my cause more and has a background in helping those in my current situation.”
