A BURY charity which supports the elderly has benefited to the tune of £200 thanks supermarket shoppers.
The Asda store in Pilsworth ran a green token scheme from July to the end of August.
Customers were given a token after every visit, and were invited to put the token in one of three boxes on their way out, each representing a different charity.
The charity with the most tokens received £200, with Age UK Bury claiming the overall prize.
Andy Hazeldine, chief officer of Age UK Bury, said: “We are very pleased that we were chosen as one of three charities to take part in the scheme, and very delighted to have received the support from customers. We will ensure the donation of £200 will go to supporting older people living in Bury.”
