A PUBLIC inquiry surrounding plans to build an anaerobic digestion plant at Fletcher Bank in Ramsbottom will be held on March 10 next year.

Earlier this year, Bury Council’s planning committee refused to give planning permission for the scheme, but the applicants - Peel Environmental and Marshalls Mono Ltd - lodged an appeal.

The matter will now be decided by an independent inspector appointed by the Secretary of State.

The inquiry, which will be held at the Elizabethan Suite in Bury Town Hall, is scheduled to last four days.

Details of the inquiry and how to make comments can be found on the Planning Inspectorate website.
