PARKLIFE Weekender is set to return to Heaton Park next summer – with a third day of music for neighbours to contend with.
The two-day festival has been pencilled in for June 6 and 7, while Middleton indie-rock band The Courteeners will play a 20,000-capacity show there on June 5.
It is understood that the festival has been given the green light, though event organisers have said nothing has been confirmed as yet and they were not likely to get a confirmation until next week.
They expect to be able to make an official announcement in the new year.
The return of Parklife is set to divide opinion between music fans who back the idea and some park neighbours and local councillors who have reservations about the festival.
Hundreds of people complained to Manchester City Council about anti-social behaviour and a wide range of other problems at Parklife Weekenders this year and last.
