BOMB disposal experts have been called to a house in Bury after police found a grenade.
Police officers had warrant to search a house in Hathaway Road, Sunnybank, which they raided at 11.55am today.
Shortly into the search, police found the grenade and evacuated the area.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "As a result of the the grenade being found, the EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) team were called to the scene."
Police originally cordoned off a 100-metre-wide area around the house, but that has now been reduced to a 50 metres.
Sunny Bank Primary School is on the same street as the house, but is not in the cordon area.
A school spokesman said: "We have decided to keep children inside the school this afternoon, so they have not been able to do sport outside.
"We have also contacted parents to ask them to collect their children at the end of the school day at the rear of the school on Lindale Drive rather than at the front of the school."
Bomb disposal experts have now left the scene and Police have removed the tape and lifted the cordon.
