A NEW play exploring where the generation of 'baby boomers' are now will be staged by the Summerseat Players from next week.

The Last of the Haussmans will take centre stage at the Theatre Royal in Ramsbottom, and will focus on what happened to the revolutionary generation of the hippies in the 1960s.

Judy Haussman, who was played by Julie Walters at a staging of the play at The National Theatre, has an unconventional mothering style which has taken its toll on her children, and the play features a family reunion to share memories of the past.

The play features strong language, sexual references and smoking throughout, and is not suitable for children.

A preview will be held next Thursday (March 12) with a charity performance the following day.

The play will then run from Saturday March 14 until Saturday March 21, excluding March 15.

Tickets cost £8.50 from Monday to Thursday, £9 on Fridays and Saturdays, or £6.50 for concessions. All performances start at 7.45pm.
