A 13-YEAR-OLD girl was punched in the face and dragged to the floor by her hair for 'looking like a goth'.

The teenager had been to the cinema and was walking with friends near to the Argos car park in Angouleme Retail Park at 5.30pm last Sunday (May 24) when she was attacked.

A teenage girl and two boys approached the victim – with the girl calling her a goth and then punching her in the face and dragging her to the floor by her hair.

The attacker then walked away down George Street towards the Vue cinema across the road.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed they are investigating the attack as a hate crime.

Police Constable Aaron McFadden, of Bury division, said: “The victim had enjoyed an afternoon at the cinema with her friends before she was subject to an unprovoked attack that has left her with a split lip and bruising.

“I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened to contact us as soon as possible.”

The victim's attacker described as white, in her mid to late teens and with long blonde hair and was wearing a blue hooded top and jeans.

One of the boys was wearing a brown jumper and shirt.
