A FRIEND who dyed her hair to raise money for a young mother-of-one with terminal cancer has continued fundraising in her memory by having her pink locks shaved off.
Angela Sutcliffe first changed her hair colour more than two years ago in aid of Ashlee Disley, who died last month at the age of 32, after a battle with breast cancer.
Ashlee captured the hearts of thousands of people after asking for help arranging her dream wedding, and funds are now being collected for a bench in her memory.
Angela, of Lincoln Avenue, Little Lever, said: "I promised Ashlee that I would keep my hair pink for as long as she was still with us, and thankfully she had 28 months instead of the 18 they first thought. She was a great inspiration for so many people."
Donations in Ashlee's memory can be made directly to Bury Hospice.
