A 71-year-old woman suffered a serious injury to her foot after being hit by a van in Prestwich yesterday.
Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, which occurred at about 1.35pm on Monday in Bury New Road, to come forward.
The woman was crossing from the central reservation of the road, heading towards the Tesco store, when she was hit by a VW Caddy that had just pulled out of Stanhope Avenue.
She was treated at the scene and taken to Salford Royal Hospital where she was further treated for a serious injury to her left foot.
She remains in hospital in a stable condition.
