HUNDREDS of rock and metal fans from across the world returned to Radcliffe for an annual music festival last weekend.

The eighth SOS Festival took place at Radcliffe Civic Suite from Friday to Sunday, with fans travelling from as far as mainland Europe, Canada, and even Japan to see the line-up of local and international bands.

This year's event was headlined by former Iron Maiden singer Blaze Bayley, and also included performances from the likes of Avenger, Tysondog, Triaxis, Furyon, Collibus, Knock Out Kaine and Skarlett Riot.

Mark Appleton, label manager of Rocksector Records, said: "2015 was one of the most successful in eight years of running this festival. The positive feedback from fans regarding both the quality of bands, plus the friendly atmosphere has been overwhelming and inspires us to go on to make 2016 the best yet."

Tickets are already on sale for next year's festival, which is due to take place from July 15-17.
