A SPECIALIST beer shop in Whitefield is tapping into a new way of raising funds for a makeover.
Barbeerian opened in Bury Old Road, Besses, last November and sells bottled beers from around the world from a shop on the ground floor, with a tap room upstairs for tasting.
Owner Raz Patel used to run the Liquor Shop two doors away and closed it when he opened Barbeerian.
Mr Patel wants to raise £2,500 to create more seating areas and to add four more lines so customers can taste a wider selection of beers.
He has set up a Kickstart campaign, which challenges supporters to raise the cash within 30 days and those who donate cash get rewards such as T-shirts and bottle openers.
Mr Patel said: "Business has been going well since we opened and we have got quite a lot of local support.
"The Kickstarter campaign is something a bit different and we are hopeful of reaching the target before the deadline."
The firm has until August 22 to raise the money and has so far raised £382.
