A FINE food market coming to Radcliffe from next month can be another step forward in the town centre’s regeneration, say its organisers.

Campfield Events, which run the recently opened Farrars Cafe and Tea Room, will be bringing the new attraction to Radcliffe Market every Saturday, starting in September.

Food fans will be able to enjoy a selection of locally-produced treats, with stallholders being brought over from Manchester’s popular Castlefield Artisan Market.

Campfield Events director Asif Hayat said: “It’s really great that we have been able to come here. The council have been very welcoming towards us and had obviously seen that we have been involved in other town regeneration projects before and that we could bring something new into Radcliffe.

“The town obviously needs a bit of a new lease of life in places, and hopefully we can help to kickstart that.

“In the last couple of weeks, we have seen that there are enough people with good ideas for how to take Radcliffe forward, and we are happy to help and advise them in any way possible.

“We want to see as many people as possible get involved in helping to improve the town centre and bringing in new attractions.”

Farrars offers fresh baked goods and coffees roasted by local artisan coffee roasters, and the market is now set to bring a much wider range of luxury produce to the town – including Italian, Mexican, and Spanish delicacies.

The cafe, which opened last month, has proved popular with local residents and has even drawn in customers from further afield.

He added: “The response to the cafe has been fantastic so far. We had done our research and thought that Radcliffe would be a really good place for us to set up and that has proved right at the moment.

“We have managed to get the news out there and it hasn’t just been people from Radcliffe coming into the cafe – we’ve had customers from Prestwich, Whitefield, and even some from Manchester who I expect wouldn’t have come into Radcliffe otherwise.”

The fine food market is set to run every Saturday until Christmas, and then re-open in February.
