AN AMATEUR interior designer from Bury has proved she's got style!
Alix Gothard took the runner-up prize in a style competition after creating a mood board redesigning a typical family sitting room.
She impressed judges in the Plumlife stylist contest, run by the Didsbury-based affordable home ownership company, with a colourful and practical scheme for a family living space.
The 20-year-old, who is studying for an interior design degree at the University of Central Lancashire, said: “I created a functional and colourful solution for a busy family by maximising the space and storage.
"I used bold shades as I am very influenced by designers such as Jonathan Adler and Kimberly Duran from Swoonworthy, both use lots of bright patterns in their work.
"This competition is such a fabulous stepping-stone to my career in interior design. The experience will help to build my portfolio and open opportunities in the future."
