THE annual Glaston-Bury music event is back with a blast on Bank Holiday Monday (Aug 31) with more than 100 artistes and bands performing at 11 venues in the town.

And during the day, visitors will be able to listen to and pre-order the "Christmas for Everyone" CD single which has been recorded by a number of musicians linked to the annual entertainment extravaganza, originally launched in 2008.

Since then, Glaston-Bury has raised more than £75,000 for Bury Hospice.

Official venues for Mondays' event are: The Blind Tiger, Wylde's, The Two Tubs, Outdoor Stage (Castle Street) with bar, Pizza Pioneer, Pic's, Bury Met Theatre, Bury Met Studio, The Monkey House, Bar 101, Brambles and Molloy's.

Acts will be performing from 12.30pm until 10.30pm. Visitors will also have the opportunity to appear in the video for the CD which is to be filmed during the event.

Last weekend, a number of people attended a private, invitation-only playback of "Christmas for Everyone" at the Blind Tiger.

Chris Buckley, Glaston-Bury organiser, said: "The playback of the single went really well, It was well received and people are very excited as it sounds great. The song will be played at 4pm on Monday and will be available to pre-order on the day. We hope the people of Bury get behind the amazing project. The video will be shot at the main stage after Steve Ferringo's set."

Chris added: "As always, we will have the best of the local music scene merging with bands from further afield. We welcome Holy Cross band Graceland who will open the event on the main stage while The Manchester Ska Foundation make their Glaston-Bury debut along with Nirvana Tribute Band 'In Bloom' at Bury Met Theatre. Molly Bloom return to the event as does The Amazin' Aziz Ibrahim for a third year."

Wristbands are available on the day from Bury Met foyer, giving access to all 11 stages and cost £6.
