TWO sister nurseries have proven to be "class acts" after both receiving exceptional Ofsted reports.

Little Holcombe Nursery, in Brandlesholme Road, Brandlesholme, was given an ‘outstanding’ rating in a report published in September.

The nursery was praised for its ‘extremely well qualified staff’ and their strong relationships with children.

Inspector Joanne Ryan said: “Staff expertly question children to enhance their thinking and communication and language skills.

“This means children confidently talk about their play and share their ideas.

“Staff are enthusiastic and excellent teachers, which results in children who can think critically and are confident to explore and investigate with their own ideas.

“Staff have established excellent relationships with parents.”

Its sister nursery Tower View Nursery with Peelers Out of School Club, in Springside View, Bury, was also awarded 'outstanding' status.

Ms Ryan, who also carried out this inspection, said: “Leaders implement a superb range of support measures for staff so they continuously improve their teaching skills and maintain very high expectations of what children are capable of achieving.

“Therefore, all children are reaching their full potential.

“All children are making excellent progress in their learning and development, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and children who speak English as an additional language.

“This is because staff identify quickly when children require extra help and implement a package of support.

“The most able children are fully stretched to keep them interested and motivated in play.”

Speaking on behalf of both nurseries, senior manager of Little Holcombe Nursery, Victoria Kaye said: “We’re delighted and really pleased with the reports and our outstanding statuses.

“Both of the nurseries were found to be outstanding for the third consecutive time.

“The two nurseries were inspected within two weeks of each other under different inspection framework and we’re delighted to have retained outstanding statuses."
