M60 lorry crash closes motorway anticlockwise causing tailbacks in Prestwich and Whitefield (Image: Newsquest)
TRAFFIC is at a standstill out of Prestwich and Whitefield this morning after a serious crash on the M60.
Two lanes of the motorway have been closed between Junction 14 for the M61, East Lancs Road, and Junction 13 for Worsley, causing tailbacks.
Traffic is queuing anticlockwise because of an accident involving two lorries and a car.
It happened at around 5.15am.
Fire crews were called to the accident although no one was trapped.
Queues are backed up to junction 17 at Prestwich and Whitefield on the M60 anticlockwise.
Motorists are being warned to avoid the motorway.
