A BURY man has been named among seven people charged in connection with the supply of drugs across Greater Manchester.
Anthony Patton, aged 33, of Meadowbrook Close, was part of a group of six men and a woman who were arrested yesterday by police, who seized 2kg of cocaine during the raids.
They appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court this morning, where Patton was charged with encouraging or assisting serious crime.
The arrests were part of an ongoing operation by GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group into drug suppliers in the region, with 14kg of cocaine recovered on September 8.
Six others – Dean McCaffrey, of Wythenshawe, Colin McCaffrey, of Golborne, Matthew Marshall, of Stockport, Callum Russell, of Audenshaw, Joseph McCormick, of Droylesden, and Jody Ashton, of Audenshaw – were charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
All have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Manchester City Crown Court on October 29.
