YOUNG cadets in Radcliffe took the chance to express their creativity in a Remembrance-themed poetry competition.
David Archibald, commander of the Greater Manchester Air Cadets Wing, presented the prizes during his annual inspection of the Radcliffe squadron, with Rebecca Kitchinson, aged 14, claiming first place ahead of Sam Rhodes, aged 16, and her twin sister Melissa.
Radcliffe Air Cadets civilian instructor David Green said: "I ran the poetry competition to see what the event means to the young cadets collecting and parading for Remembrance Day. Every year they spend their weekends collecting for the Royal British Legion."
