FACES of Bury's Most Wanted suspects will be broadcast on a Crimestoppers billboard van to mark a decade since the charity launched its online gallery.

It was 10 years ago that the charity - which runs a hotline for people to give tip-offs about crimes anonymously - published the first set of mugshots of suspects and ex-convicts whom police wanted to find.

The billboard van will be visiting locations across the county to link in with Crimestoppers Week of Action.

Superintendent Craig Thompson said: “Officers will be making it a top priority to search for and arrest those most wanted. We will be relying on help and information from the public via Crimestoppers to help us find those who have, up to now, avoided facing up to their crimes.

"There will be significant activity in each division across Greater Manchester and we will be utilising a number of resources to make the week a success.

"Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our communities and I want to assure everybody that during the week of action there will be nowhere to hide for the individuals that we are seeking."

Among those featured is Stephen O'Donnell, aged 22, who is wanted to appear on charges of an assault allegedly carried out in Bury.

The van's mugshot parade also contains a picture of Paul Shaw, aged 23. He is sought over theft charges and for breach of a court order.

Another suspect featured is 29-year-old Nicholas Walsh, failing to appear at court over theft and drugs offences that took place in Bury.

Aaron Ellery, aged 22, has links to the town and is wanted for a breach of a court order.

Gary Murray, North West Regional Manager of Crimestoppers, said: “Most Wanted appeals to the nation’s ‘armchair’ detectives – those who want to help fight crime from the safety of their own home and, above all else, anonymously."

To date, the Crimestoppers website has listed a total of 12,524 appeals – with 3,589 listed individuals arrested.

Anyone with information on any suspect can call the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
