A GIFT shop boss has reached new heights for charity.

Jayne Leggat, owner of Lollypop, Holcombe Brook, mixes her time selling gifts and cards with being the events and fundraising manager at Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Foundation.

Previously responsible for raising more than £3.5 million for Cancer Research UK, Jayne is now helping to grow the charity arm of the LCCC which delivers a range of health, education, community cohesion and cricket development projects, programmes and events to inspire communities through cricket.

The foundation delivers a range of projects including engaging 11to16-year-olds through prison peer mentoring workshops in partnership with HMP Thorncross, delivering curling in sheltered housing, table cricket for children with learning difficulties to mixed martial arts and dance through the Girls without Boundaries programme.

Jayne said: “We have created a really good foundation. But it is just a start — the work the team does has an immediate and beneficial impact on a range of individuals, but we must keep up the momentum to ensure that our local communities are the focus into the future.”

Jayne’s latest fundraising event for the LCCC Foundation is a ladies' lunch in the Members’ Suite at Emirates Old Trafford on December 11 in partnership with Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention.
