MORE than £1,000 was raised at Bury Blind Society's annual extra special craft and gift fair.
And the event, held at Ramsbottom Civic Hall, welcomed special guests the Mayor of Bury, Cllr Stella Smith, and her consort husband John.
Despite heavy rain and some flooding in the area, visitors and volunteers helped to make the fair a success.
The event included a variety of stalls offering a wide range of handmade local crafts and gift items, plus a cafe.
Society chief executive officer Jill Logan said: "We’d like to thank the Ramsbottom Civic Hall staff, the stall holders, John the singer and all the wonderful volunteers for helping to make our extra special gift and craft show such a success.
"All the money raised will help us to continue providing support and services to visually impaired people in Bury."
