A CELEBRATION of brass band music is set to take place once again Bury.

Bandemonium 2016 takes place in and around the town centre and gives a wide range of musicians a chance to showcase their talents to shoppers.

Organisers said they have started planning this summer's event, which will take place on June 18.

At present, the plan is for the Greater Manchester Police Band and the Bloco Ashe Bury Samba Band to perform in Kay Gardens.

The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Band (Lancashire) will play in Market Place, while Bury Schools Music Service and Hazelhurst Primary School will entertain at the Mill Gate shopping centre.

Over at the Rock shopping centre, Tottington Public Band will play and Barista Café in the Rock will have Derby High School's band and choir and Besses Boys Training Band playing.

Middleton Youth Band will perform at East Lancashire Railway Station and, though Lion Gardens will also be a venue, organisers are hoping to hear from any band that would like to perform.
