SHOCKING video footage has emerged of rival football fans clashing in a town centre pub.

A brawl between Bury and Doncaster Rovers supporters broke out in the Art Picture House, in Haymarket Street, before the clubs' match at Gigg Lane on Saturday April 9 which the Shakers went on to win 1-0.

The footage shows a man throwing a flurry of punches at another man who is on the floor, before the pair are separated by pub staff. Voices are raised and expletives can be heard during the video.

Bury Times:

Staff help break up the fight

Drinkers in the pub are seen looking on in shock.

The pair were both removed from the pub following the incident, which happened at about 2pm.

A police spokesman said the incident has not been reported and therefore it has not launched an investigation.

But the spokesman added that it would use the video to investigate whether any of those in the footage could be identified.

The pub said quick thinking by its staff helped to disperse the trouble.

A spokesman for the JD Wetherspoon owned pub, said: "We can confirm that a fight broke out at The Art Picture House pub, in Bury, on Saturday (April 9) at around 2pm, between Bury and Doncaster football fans.

"One individual was removed from the pub via the back doors, while another through the front entrance.

"Quick and efficient actions by the pub management and staff, together with assistance by the Police, who were patrolling the area outside the pub at the time, diffused the situation.

"Wetherspoon do not tolerate anti-social or violent behaviour towards staff or customers at any time."
