AN 11-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Kersal Road, Prestwich, at 3.45pm and reported that the boy was talking to ambulance staff at the scene.
He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital with facial injuries, as well as hip and back pain. However, an ambulance service spokesman said the incident was not deemed to be a "major trauma".
The road has been closed in both directions between the junctions with Moor Lane and Heathlands Drive.
An NWAS spokesman said: "We received the call at 3.45pm and send a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance. The patient suffered facial injuries and also had lower back and hip pain. The incident was not classed as a major trauma and he was taken to Salford Royal Hospital."
