A DOG walker was left "traumatised" after having his solid gold watch stolen in a robbery in Heaton Park.

At around 10.10am on Thursday, April 14, a 64-year-old man was walking his dog around the wooded area of the park, having entered from Sheepfoot Lane close to the Grand Lodge.

Two men approached the 64-year-old telling him to raise his arms. Fearing for his safety, the victim raised his arms before the two men stole cash and a Rolex Oyster solid 18ct yellow gold watch from him.

Both offenders quickly fled the scene.

The first offender is described as a white man, 5ft 8in tall, around 27 or 28-years old, slim build, dark hair, facial stubble, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and trainers.

The second offender is described as a white man, 5ft 8in tall, 27-28-years old, slim build, wearing a grey hoodie.

PC Claire Johnson from GMP's North Manchester division said: "This incident has left the victim traumatised as the watch that was stolen was sentimental to him. If anyone has any information surrounding the robbery, or if you have perhaps been offered this watch for sale, please contact the police."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 3925 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
