BURY was hit by several inches of snow overnight - on the eve of the May bank holiday weekend.
Temperatures plunged on Thursday evening and snow fell from the early hours, making road conditions hazardous in some places.

However, the sun is beginning to break through to melt the ice.

But the good news is for those looking forward to three days off work and school is that temperatures are set to climb back into double figures celsius.
