TALES of alien abductions and UFOs will be shared at a unique conference in Bury later this month.

The inaugural Repcon event will be held at The Fusilier Museum, in Moss Street, on May 29, promising guests an insight into the "weird and wacky" experiences of people who say they have had alien encounters.

Organiser Chris Turner, from Ainsworth, set up the event after making a documentary on reptilian aliens, which conspiracy theorists say are aliens that take a human form to manipulate our society.

The 40-year-old said: "Repcon is, as far as I know, the first big UFO conference in the Bury and Bolton area.

"It will be one of the first events where all four of the speakers have been abducted by aliens or had personal contact.

"When you say that kind of thing it does raise a few eyebrows, but I have found that when you can sit down and talk to people then they can be quite open to the idea.

"It's something a bit different to do with your Bank Holiday weekend."

Mr Turner has already has interest in the event from all over the world and is confident that visitors will enjoy the experience, whether they are believers or not.

He added: "The conference has come about because of a documentary I made about reptilian aliens. I spoke to David Icke for that, who is well known for his theories about the royal family being aliens, but now has thousands of followers.

"I think these things get a bit misconstrued most of the time.

"I was getting such a good response to the documentary that people suggested I set up a conference.

"There are a lot of people coming who have been through abductions and want to meet people with similar experiences, as well as people who just want to come along and listen to what we have to say.

"Whether they believe it or not, it's a chance to delve into something a bit weird and wacky."
