A MAN had to be rescued after getting stuck in mud up to his thighs at Elton Reservoir this morning.
The 49-year-old was pulled from the mud by fire crews from Whitefield and Bolton North. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service's water incident unit and tactical response unit were also called in to help.
A GMFRS spokesman said: "After being released from the mud, he was left in the care of the ambulance service and taken to hospital."
