FOUR suspects are now accused of carrying out a raid on a home in which it is alleged machete-wielding intruders attacked and injured the occupant.

The defendants – Louis Hamilton, Macaulay Heald, Ashton Holland and Jacob Holland – appeared at Bolton Crown Court on Friday. (June 17)

All four defendants are accused of:

Aggravated burglary on April 17 in Bury and Bolton Road, Higher Ainsworth, while equipped with a machete and in which car keys and a handbag and its contents were stolen

Wounding a man with intent on April 17

Unlawful wounding of the same man on April 17

Hamilton is further accused of:

Attempted aggravated burglary on April 11 in Derwent Drive, Bury, while equipped with a machete

Attempted aggravated burglary on April 11 in Canterbury Drive, Bury, while equipped with a machete

Aggravated burglary on April 17 at the same property in Canterbury Drive, Bury, while equipped with a machete and a baseball bat and in which a television and cash was stolen

Causing grievous bodily harm with intent on a second man on April 17

Inflicting grievous bodily harm on the second man on April 17 as an alternative to the previous count

Ashton Holland and Heald are further accused of:

Attempted robbery of car keys and a car from a woman on April 17

Burglary of a garage in Starling Road, Radcliffe, on April 17 in which a bottle of liqueur and bottles of lager were stolen

None of the five have entered pleas and are due back before the crown court for a plea hearing on July 14.

The judge remanded Louis Hamilton, aged 26, of Hudson Close, Deane; Macaulay Heald, aged 19, of Ridyard Street, Little Hulton; Ashton Holland, aged 25, of Barry Crescent, Little Hulton, and Jacob Holland, aged 27, of no fixed address, back in custody until then.
