PLANS for 50 homes off Bury New Road, Ramsbottom, have been submitted to the council.
The application by The Florence Nuttall Trust is for land to the west of Manchester Road.
In their planning statement they said: "Overall, Ramsbottom is a good location to host development. It is a successful and sustainable settlement with a good range of services and facilities, community activities and employment hosting sites. It benefits from good accessibility by foot and bicycle and good public transport connections with nearby settlements."
The applicant said that there would be a wide range of benefits of the application.
The statement continued: "The benefits of the proposed development in helping to deliver additional housing into the town including affordable housing and addressing an undersupply of family
homes in the local housing market thus providing the opportunity for more families and young people to remain within or move into the community.
"This will additionally increase the working age population of the town, increasing the economic contribution of the town and an increased spending power and greater levels of social capital to support local businesses and services."
The application can be viewed on the Bury Council planning website under reference 60370.
