SUPPORTERS of Grace's Place children’s hospice should continue showing support during a review, trustees have said.

Announced last month, the ongoing review is focusing on the charity's finances, facilities and the future of Grace's Place.

Grace's Place trustees want to reassure supporters that efforts to finally get the complex, in Dumers Lane, open will continue during the review.

Bury Hospice, which has close links to Grace's Place, recently completed its own independent inquiry and is on the up after financial problems.

Grace's Place chair of trustees Cllr Joan Grimshaw, said: "I was very pleased to read recently that the turn-around plan for Bury Hospice is paying dividends under the new management.

"Grace's Place is also very much alive and kicking and looking forward to a fresh start.

"The trustees have worked very hard to put our balance sheet into a healthy position and we now look forward to working with colleagues from Pennine Care (which owns the land on which Grace's Place stands) to develop a robust plan to turn our dream of a children's hospice into reality.

"Now more than ever, we need the support of people to help us move forward.

"We know, sadly, that there is huge demand for the help and care that Grace's Place was set up to provide to sick children and we know there will be a way to bring this much-needed, and superb facility, into life.

"The efforts of fundraisers so far has been magnificent and I would ask people to remember us and to keep on raising money for this vitally important cause so that we can move forward and provide outstanding care for children and their families."
