SUPERJOSH founder Dawn Fidler brings you her latest blog

ON Saturday, we held a Thumbraiser’s Thank You Party for our amazing volunteers at The Village Hotel.

It was a fantastic night and a brilliant opportunity to say a massive thank you to our SuperJosh family.

I am constantly overwhelmed by how generous people are, both with their hard-earned money, but more importantly, with the time they dedicate to help us push the charity forward and continue Josh’s legacy.

I will never be able to say a big enough thank you to everyone involved.

This week we are working with 13-year-old Lewis and his family.

Lewis has been in hospital for just less than a year, and will remain there while adaptations are finished on his home.

I know too well how important it is that everyone gets to have a break, whilst ensuring no one misses out, so we have organised a fun-packed week full of activities to help keep Lewis occupied.

We have already been to Legoland Discovery, and we also have a trip to the Sea Life Centre planned. It’s great for Lewis’ mum to have a break outside of the hospital, and make some more memories together.

This weekend we are celebrating Manchester Pride and are so excited this to be involved for the first time.

Thanks to Style Logistics, which is donating its giant lorry for us to use on the day as a float.

We will be having the biggest superhero themed event in the history of Pride, with a team of about 50 people wearing super hero and SuperJosh outfits.

A special thank you to Wingate Signs which is working its magic and turning our float into an amazing SuperJosh truck and Rehab for Independence are donating huge SuperHero truck!

Look out for our SuperJosh Pride boards, tweet a selfie and you could win a 42 inch TV, use #SuperJoshPride.

On September 18, the first ever Bury 10K will be taking place, and we are proud to be a partner charity.

We have dedicated places, which can be purchased at a discount on our website. If cheering is more your thing, please get in touch if you would like to help on the day hello@joshwilson.org.uk thank you!
