WAR heroes from Bircle were remembered at a special heritage weekend.
St John the Baptist Church, in Castle Hill Road, welcomed visitors to find out more about the 46 men who gave their lives for their country and are listed on the church's memorial plaque.
In July, the church launched an appeal for information about eight names on the plaque that they had no record of, and have since been given leads on all of them with the help of surviving family members.
In addition to the displays of information, photographs and obituaries of the soldiers, the church set up a poppy pathway, a remembrance tree, a display on evacuees’ experiences, wartime memorabilia and a Naafi-style cafe.
