POLICE have released an image of a man they wish to speak to after a car was stolen in a burglary in Tottington.

Sometime between 2am and 5:30am on Saturday October 1, three men were stood acting suspiciously on Springvale Drive before one approached and entered a property on the street.

The thief walked through the living room, passing one of the occupants who was asleep on the couch, and in to the kitchen where he picked up a set of car keys and a black Radliegh handbag.

He then left the property and drove off in the property owners grey Audi A3 which was parked outside.

Police Constable Carly Baines of GMP’s Bury borough said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise this man or have any information about this break in. The man in the image is wearing quite distinctive trainers which are pretty expensive to buy so it’s possible that may help to identify him.

“The fact that the offender managed to walk past somebody as they slept obviously makes this intrusive theft even more alarming and distressing for the victims.

“If you think you may be able to assist us then please contact police.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 803 of 01/10/16, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
