A RECENTLY-opened nursery got a visit from an MP as it celebrated getting up-and-running one year after its owner was granted planning permission.

Bambinos, in Manchester Road, opened in September, one year after owner Hayley Taggart received the “amazing” news that she was allowed to turn a house into a nursery.

And Bury North MP David Nuttall said he was “very impressed” with the new premises.

He said: “They provide lots of opportunities to play and learn.

“Young children will clearly be well cared for at Bambinos.

“The premises have been developed and decorated to a very high standard and there is a superb outside play area.”

It is not every day that councillors make dreams come true, but that was certainly the case for Miss Taggart in September 2015 when she asked Bury Council for permission to change the use of the house near the junction with Radcliffe Road so it could be used as a nursery for under-fives.

At the time, Miss Taggart said the project was “her dream”, particularly because it was in the area where she grew up.

Now, one year later, Bambinos is growing steadily week by week and already has a new year’s waiting list.

Miss Taggart said: “We are really excited and encouraged at the amount of interest shown.

“It’s been a long and challenging road to get to where we are so far but finally opening Bambinos has made all the hard work and effort worthwhile.

“I feel we have achieved a beautiful, stimulating, safe and secure environment for children to thrive in while learning and developing through play.

“It’s a joy to see our new Bambinos family expanding and growing together.”
