MOTORISTS are likely to experience delays for up to four months when works are carried out on a busy main road.
The structural improvement works will take place in Bury Old Road, between the junctions of Hardman’s Road and Walker Avenue, from Monday, November 7 for approximately four months for renewal of barriers along the road and increasing the height of pedestrian barriers to improving safety for motorists and pedestrians using the bridge.
Temporary traffic lights and lane closures will be in place between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday but there will be a break over the Christmas period from December 3 until January 7. Kenilworth Avenue’s junction with Bury Old Road will be closed to motorists and a diversion will be in place. A Highways England spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause.” There is a 24 hour customer care line on 0300 123 5000 or email info@highwaysengland.co.uk.”
