A POLICE investigation was launched after an old woman was found dead in her home.
Detectives and forensics spent the morning at a house in Holcombe Road, Greenmount.
It was initially thought the 73-year-old had died in suspicious circumstances – however police later said it was being treated as a “tragic accident”.
A GMP spokesman said: “Shortly before 7.30am on Saturday December 10 2016, police were called to Holcombe Road to reports of a sudden death.
“Officers attended and discovered the body of a woman.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
