A STUDENT died of asphyxia an inquest heard.
The inquest into the death of Leon Terry Hardman was opened and adjourned.
The 19-year-old who was born in Bury was found in a flat at The Cube in Bradshawgate, Bolton, on December 17.
A police investigation revealed no evidence of suspicious circumstances or third party involvement.
The inquest was adjourned until May.
A spokesman for the University of Bolton said: "The university is deeply saddened to learn of the death of a Bury College University Centre student.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the individual concerned and also with his friends, fellow students and tutors.
A statement on the University of Bolton student's website posted on December 18, stated: "The University of Bolton and Bolton Students' Union have been made aware of the unfortunate and untimely death of a young man in the Cube Halls of Residence.
"Our thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and friends of this young man at this sad and difficult time."
Support services were available for students.
