NATIONAL trade body, the Property Care Association, has issued a list of measures that householders can take to reduce the possibility and damage of flooding.
It comes after the Radcliffe-based environmental consultancy, LK Group, found that 23% of new houses in Bury are in a flood zone.
Measures suggested by the PCA include fitting a ‘non return valve’ to prevent sewage going back into your home, moving your boiler and electric sockets higher up the wall and using ceramic or stone tiles with waterproof adhesive and grout.
The full list of measurers is available at the Property Care Association’s website at www.property-care.org/homeowners/flood-protection/
