STUDENTS from Bury and surrounding areas launched a record label with a sell-out event.
ALBA Records MCR was launched live performances from Scruffy Bear, The River North and Flat World Theory at Gullivers in Manchester.
Sass Lafferty, founder of Alba Records, said: “The night was incredible, I would like to say thank you to everyone who made it down and to the launch to support the artists and label. This is just the beginning.”
With all the profits made so far going straight back into the bands,, the label is run by committed volunteers.
The students met at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute and Manchester Metropolitan University. The label has been operating since December and has made a promising start with over 15 volunteers running the show and three bands on their books.
They have an event coming up this month and are looking for artists nationwide to get involved.
