A RADCLIFFE student has been offered a place to study at Oxford University if she can achieve the required grades in her upcoming A-Levels.

After achieving 11 A*s and A grades in her GCSE’s, 17-year-old Adi Jacobson is now working towards her A-Levels in physics, maths, further maths and music at Withington Girls’ School Sixth Form and is amongst ten other pupils to have secured offers at either Oxford or Cambridge.

Having been part of a Withington team that won a prestigious engineering education scheme award and having work experience at a number of engineering companies, Adi says she has benefitted from the insight she has gained but intends to focus on her physics for the time being.

“I would like to specialise in the subject,” she said. “The Oxford course is incredible and I was ecstatic at hearing that I have been offered a place.”

and hopes eventually pursue a career in engineering.

Adi’s passion for her chosen subject has been recognised with the awarding of a number of medals in the national Physics Olympiads; her most recent achievement being a gold in the British Physics Olympiad, which placed her amongst the top 100 in the country out of a field of around 1,600 competitors.

Adi says she hopes to achieve a career in engineering.
