INDIAN food with a difference is what is on offer at Shazia's Street Food.

Shazia Ansari, aged 45, was inspired by friends and employers to give up her sales career of 20 years and open a traditional Indian street food business in Rochdale Road, Bury.

Mrs Ansari said she has always loved food and credits her mum for that passion.

She said: "My mum is my guide in terms of cooking.

"She was always cooking for lots of people, she could arrange a party at a moment’s notice.

"It’s something I had growing up – food was the most important thing within our social circle."

Having dreamed of opening her own place for many years she made the leap after a trip with friends to Goa in 2015.

Mrs Ansari, who lives in Heywood, said: "It didn’t matter where we went we always ended up in this little street food place.

"It was that point with my friends and they just inspired me to go for it."

Mrs Ansari says her cuisine is a departure from the usual 'greasy' fare on offer on the high street.

Each day she prepares a fresh curry, which is the only one available that day. Alongside the special are a variety of stuffed paratha, gourmet burgers, kebabs and pies are available.

On Saturdays, customers are also treated to an all-day cooked breakfast.

Mrs Ansari says her cuisine is not fast food, it is good food and customers can sit in a plush dining area to enjoy their meals.
