COMEDIAN Peter Kay has been spoken of his shock at the terrorist attack in Manchester.
The Car Share star used to work at the arena as a steward and has performed there on a number of occasions.
He played 40 nights in 2010 and 2011 as part of his Tour that Doesn’t Tour Tour.
Phoenix Nights Live was also performed there.
Speaking to ITV, Peter said he was in London for the Chelsea Flower Show when he heard about the attack but travelled back to the city for the vigil on Monday.
He said: “I just feel completely numb. It affects you because the arena has always been a massive part of my life.
“I started working there when it first opened as a steward and I ended up doing shows there. I was there on Saturday too, watching Take That.
“It really is just awful. I can’t really put it into words.”
Kay added that people ‘just need to love each other’.
