TWO fundraising events held in Radcliffe to aid a charity that pays for breaks for sick and disabled children has raised more than £1200.

Trewan Sands Children’s Trust held a ‘Wear Your PJ’s Day’ and a ‘Fun Day’, with most of the proceeds going to support them.

A portion of the amount raised was also donated to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

‘Wear Your PJ’s Day’, held at The Lock Keeper in Mill Bank, had a host of entertainment on offer including bouncy castles, face painting, raffles and a live DJ.

The ‘Fun Day’, held at The Bridge Tavern, had singing and 22 red, white and blue balloons that were released to honour the emergency services after the attacks in Manchester.

Louise Dawson, aged 46, from Trewan Sands Children’s Trust and organiser of the events, said: “We would like to thank the community of Radcliffe for coming along and supporting Trewan Sands.

“They turned out in style and all contributed to making the event a massive success.

“The feedback from people was that it was the best event held in the town for some time.”

Overall, £1160.76 was raised for the charity plus another £240.18 for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

Next up for the charity will be The Bridge Tavern Music Festival which will take place on August 27 where the fundraiser will have lots more entertainment on offer.

Trewan Sands are appealing for singers, dancers and karaoke kings and queens to come along and entertain the community of Radcliffe.
