THE spirit of Ramsbottom is coming to a Bury theatre, offering a chance to discover emerging talented musicians.
Head for the Hills, formerly known as the Ramsbottom Festival, is teaming up with Scruff of the Neck record company to bring music fans a pre-festival showcase event at The Met in Bury on Saturday August 5.
David Agnew, artistic director at the theatre in Market Street, said: “We’re really proud of the partnerships we build and Scruff of the Neck has brought incredible bands to the festival.
“This gig offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate the partnership and to invite audiences to be part of discovering great emerging talent.”
Acts include Pontefract four-piece Glass Caves, described as a “word of mouth phenomenon” by Clash magazine; feisty two-piece Skies, who appeared at the Ramsbottom Festival 2016 and are back with a second EP; and Dear Caroline who have been compared to Arctic Monkeys.
Tickets cost £7. Book online or call The Met on 0161 761 2216.
A spokesman for the festival said: “In true Head for the Hills style we've invited three great bands to join us for a fantastic, friendly and fun night of music.”
