A MOTORIST became stranded in flood waters this morning.
Firefighters were mobilised to Fern Grove in Bury just before 8.30am.
A spokesman said: "A driver was stuck in their car with rising water surrounding them, but had got themselves out of the vehicle when firefighters arrived at the scene.
"Crews from Ashton arrived to the scene with a Technical Rescue Unit and an Enhanced Rescue Unit."
Firefighters from Bury Whitefield and Heywood also attended.
Cars have stuck in the area before after heavy rainfall has caused flooding.
