A RADCLIFFE takeaway is hoping to go one step better in its bid to be crowned the best in the country.

Grilled Hotspot is again competing with the best takeaways in the North West to be shortlisted for the British Takeaway Awards 2017.

The family-run Outwood Road shop, which serves burgers, kebabs, pizza, and chicken, placed in the top five last year but needs to win in order to be shortlisted for a national award.

Grilled Hotspot, which has been open for four years, has an almost perfect rating from almost 6,500 reviews on Just East and customers are now being urged to show their support by voting in the awards.

Humad Mustafa, the takeaway’s owner, said: “We placed in the top five in the North West last year which was a good achievement but we are looking to go one better this time around.

“This competition is for the best of the best but with our really good online reviews we are really pushing to do well.

“Even if we just get a fraction of the people who have written reviews for us on Just Eat to go and vote, that will probably still be a big number.

“I am confident that we can go on to win this year.”

This is the third year since the formation of the awards with British café Brunch, based in Merseyside, winning the North-West prize for the last two years.

To vote for Grilled Hotspot, visit thebtas.co.uk before the deadline on midnight of Monday, October 1.

People can also vote by visiting the takeaway in person.
