A TOP comedy troupe will return to Ramsbottom for an improvised competitive show this weekend.

ComedySportz - which features two teams battling it out for the biggest laughs - will perform to an audience at Ramsbottom Civic Hall on Saturday night.

Approaching their 16th year, ComedySportz Manchester has just celebrated a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The family show for all ages operates like 'Whose Line is it Anyway' with players creating quick-witted sketches, improvised gags, and songs and sketches inspired by audience suggestions.

ComedySportz Manchester will be joined by players from Seattle for a UKvsUS special.

Player and comedian Sean Mason said: "Ramsbottom is shaping up to be a great crowd and we're delighted to be bringing something a little special to the Civic Hall this month.

"The Seattle guys are incredibly talented so it's going to be a really tough battle that guarantees plenty of big laughs."

Spectators at this upcoming performance can expect fast-paced entertainment as players try to win them over.

A referee will be on hand to steer the teams, call any fouls, and help the audience choose their winner.

ComedySportz Manchester are part of a worldwide family of shows that perform across the UK and USA, with the UK group recently taking part in the ComedySportz World Championships in San Jose.

Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start. Tickets at £7 each are available on the door, or online via Quay Tickets.
