BURY'S Gemma Atkinson is through to the next week of Strictly Come Dancing after wowing judges once again with her 'gorgeous' Paso Doble.

The former Emmerdale actress, aged 32, came second on the leaderboard with her score of 35.

She danced to Coldplay's Viva La Vida with partner Aljaz Škorjanec and the judges were impressed.

Bruno Tonioli called the dance 'gorgeous' and said: "You really are becoming a polished gem. You shine brighter and brighter every week."

Shirley Ballas told Gemma: "I found it powerful but sensual. Strictly is a marathon, not a sprint, and I think you're here for the long run. I was so impressed with what you did."

The performance ensured the pair stayed clear of the bottom two in the public vote, sparing them the dance-off to remain in the competition on Sunday night.

ITV presenter Charlotte Hawkins and her partner Brendan Cole became the third couple to be voted off the show.

Gemma and Aljaz will dance again on next week’s Strictly at 6.35pm on Saturday on BBC One.
