STAFF from a Bury-based business have completed a six-and-a-half-mile hike through Ramsbottom to raise money for Children in Need.

Over 50 staff from JD Outdoors in Pilsworth took part in the walk from the town centre to the top of Holcombe Hill last Friday.

The company, which provides a host of active and outdoor wear, is an official BBC Children in Need partner and has produced an official Pudsey-themed Ramble Hat as part of a nationwide campaign to encourage people to complete sponsored rambles to raise money and awareness for the charity.

The staff wore the bright yellow hats as they completed their ramble.

JD Outdoors managing director, Lee Bagnall, said: “The team were hard to miss with their eye-catching hats, as well as flags and banners, and we’re pleased people in Ramsbottom came out and cheered them on as they walked through the town.”

Ramble Hats can be picked up from JD Outdoors stores including Blacks, Millets, Ultimate Outdoors and Go Outdoors or go online to www.blacks.co.uk.

All proceeds from hat sales will go directly to BBC Children in Need.
